BBN believes that access to reliable health information plays a critical role in improving health outcomes for mothers and children. We work to nurture healthier communities by supporting mothers, caring for children, raising health awareness, and empowering those who serve on the frontlines.
BBN promotes awareness and education around maternal health, including pregnancy care, childbirth preparation, and postpartum health. Programs aim to support women and families in understanding the importance of safe pregnancy practices, maternal well-being, and informed decision-making during childbirth.

The early years of life are critical for a child’s growth and development. BBN’s programs focus on strengthening knowledge around infant care, breastfeeding, nutrition, and early childhood development. These programs support caregivers in providing safe and nurturing environments for children.

BBN conducts awareness programs that address key health challenges faced by communities. These initiatives focus on promoting preventive health practices, improving understanding of nutrition and common health conditions, and encouraging the adoption of healthier behaviors.

Frontline health workers and community educators play a crucial role in delivering health information within communities. BBN provides training programs that strengthen their knowledge and skills, enabling them to effectively communicate health information and support community health initiatives.

Documents care and treatment during pregnancy, birth and postpartum, identifies trends to inform advocacy and policy
In response to the lack of detailed data on the treatment of women and the use of medical intervention in maternity care, BBN developed the ‘My Birth Counts Survey’. The objectives of the survey are to: 1) Establish a baseline of data regarding evidence-based, non-evidence-based and respectful maternity care practices. 2) Provide these aggregate data to consumers, practitioners, policymakers and stakeholders to empower better-informed choices in improving the quality of maternity care and policy in India. The MBC Survey is an online, computer-based, self-administered survey in English if you are over 18 and have had a baby in the last five years in India.
